DC Comics is the publishing unit of DC Entertainment, a subsidiary of Warner Bros., which itself a subsidiary of Time Warner. It is known for creating famous superheroes like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, the Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, Aquaman, Hawkman, and Green Arrow, along with superhero teams like the Justice League and the Teen Titans, and villains like Lex Luther, the Joker, Darkseid, Penguin, the Riddler, Catwoman, and Braniac. DC Comics and its longtime competitor, Marvel Comics (itself owned by the Walt Disney Company, a rival of Time Warner) own 80% of the comic book industry.
